Colonial America

The colonists settled in the "New World" in search for religious freedom, to escape persecution, political liberty, and because of the economic opportunity. Before the first Europeans arrived, Native Americans had lived across the continent.

Slavery

People from Africa were sold by African kings. They were brought to America and forced to work in slavery.

The Constitutional Convention

During the Constitutional Convention the Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution. It was written in 1787. The passage of the Constitution was supported by the Federalist Papers. Authors of the Federalist Papers were:
